5 Northern Light Health Careers Guide
Building Your Life and Career in Maine What is it like working in Maine? While you can answer that question in any number of ways, we break our answer down into three key categories: Our people , our values , and our state.
Our People (your future colleagues, patients, and neighbors):
Northern Light Health’s team consists of about 10,000 people, each one of whom brings their own skillset, background, and insight into their role. Northern Light Health fosters a culture centered on teamwork, and we are proud to embrace and encourage our staff’s individuality and respect everyone for who they are. Maine is built on the foundation of neighbors helping neighbors. Whether it’s clearing a path for an elderly person in your community, lending some sugar to your local baker, or sitting for a cup of tea and a chat with someone who’s feeling lonely, that’s just how we do things in Maine. Similarly, at Northern Light Health, we help each other out and celebrate each other’s successes. Even more importantly, we thrive on seeing our patients thrive. After all, that’s why we get into healthcare – whether you work directly with patients or not. That’s what gets us up in the morning and that’s what keeps us moving forward.

Our Values Northern Light Health exists to make healthcare work for you.
We improve the health of the people and communities we serve. That is our mission. That is our purpose. To accomplish our mission and vision, Northern Light Health embraces the values of Integrity, Respect, Compassion, and Accountability. Our values play a key role in every decision we make, both big and small. Our State At Northern Light Health, we know how important it is to have a healthy work-life balance. While it’s great to work in Maine, part of the appeal is that you get to experience all our state has to offer. As you begin to explore Maine, you’ll quickly find there’s a reason our motto is “The Way Life Should Be.” Most people only get to visit or vacation in Maine, but as a resident, you’ll have the opportunity to live here year-round and call Maine your home. Maine offers you the full spectrum of the seasons – from the leaves bursting with color in autumn to those warm summer days when time seems to stand still as you relax and unwind. As one of the country’s premiere destinations for outdoor activities, Maine has plenty to offer you, whether you’re an avid hiker, climber, skier, snowboarder, or you just like to immerse yourself in nature. Maine is also home to Acadia National Park, where you can find some of the most spectacular hiking trails and views in the country. With several state parks for you to explore, you could choose a new destination every weekend and you’d be hard-pressed to check them all off.
