Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center

Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center is a nonprofit specialty referral hospital that has served communities in central, eastern, and northern Maine since 1892. We’re the only specialty referral hospital in the northern two thirds of Maine. Our purpose is to provide personalized, straightforward care that works for our patients, employees, healthcare providers, and donors. The medical center is accredited by The Joint Commission. Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center is governed by a volunteer board of trustees who live and work in our communities. Areas of excellence • Level II trauma center verified by the American College of Surgeons, and a level 3 neonatal intensive care unit. • Advanced cancer, cardiovascular, orthopedic, emergency, and women’s health services, among many other specialties. We provide specialty and intensive services that aren’t available elsewhere in the region. • Leading in robotic-assisted surgery recognized as an epicenter for general and bariatric robotic-assisted surgery.
