When you get home This is a transitional time.
For some, going home is a relief. For others, it is the scariest thing in their world. Since your arrival at the hospital, the joint team has been directing you in your care; motivating you to get out of bed, eat, drink, get dressed and go to the bathroom. The nursing staff have been managing your pain and giving you your medications. We take your independence, then as quickly as we took it, we give it back to you with a lot of new directions, medications and pain. Some of you will take all of this in stride, while others need more time and assistance. There is no right or wrong in how you feel once you get home because no two people are the same. If you go through periods of exhaustion, take a nap. If you want to cry, cry. If you feel overwhelmed, take a deep breath. If you have a question or even think you have a question call ~ there is a team here to help you.
