Originally donated by Mrs. F.B. Richards in 1922 and incorporated in 1924, Northern Light Blue Hill Hospital is a nonprofit, community-led, critical access hospital that serves Hancock County. We’re a healthcare provider, major employer, and community health partner. Our Emergency Department is staffed by physicians 24/7. Imaging services include a state-of-the-art CT scanner, mobile MRI, ultrasound, 3D digital mammography, Dexa scanning (bone density testing, and routine x-rays. Rehabilitation services (physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and cardiac rehab) are offered in Blue Hill and Bucksport. Specialty services include orthopedics, cardiology, urology, gastroenterology, infusion, osteoporosis care, and women’s health (labor and delivery services are provided in Ellsworth in cooperation with Maine Coast Hospital).
