“Although we have surge plans for mass casualties and pandemics in place, it is anticipated we will need to conduct additional “just in time” planning that is specific to the emergency being mitigated. Surge Capacity development is a complex, multifaceted planning initiative which requires the participation and collaboration of many healthcare organizations, government agencies, and businesses. It is non-competitive, highly collaborative, and overall very fulfilling. These are good people working together and sharing resources, so we can care for our communities.
